2.3 Resources & Roles

Create resource lists (Labor, Equipment, Material) and distinguish between Roles and Resources.

Primavera handles more than just "time"—it tracks "money and effort." To do this, we must define **Resources**.

1. Resource Types

Labor: Manpower (Engineers, Carpenters).
Non-Labor: Equipment (Cranes, Loaders).
Material: Physical supplies (Concrete, Steel, Bricks).

2. Resource vs. Role

A **Role** is a job title (e.g., Civil Engineer). A **Resource** is the specific person (e.g., Eng. John). We use Roles during initial planning when specific personnel are not yet assigned.

💡 BIMitPlaniT Tip: Always link resources to **Price/Unit**. This allows P6 to automatically calculate project costs once the schedule is completed.
