2.5 Project Budgets

Learn how to define spending ceilings for each project and distribute budgets over time.
Primavera is about money as much as time. **Budgets** are the constraints ensuring we don't exceed what the company has authorized.
1. Recording the Budget
Open the **Budgets** tab in the Projects window. Explain how to enter the **Authorized Budget** (the total amount approved for the project).
2. Budget Log
Track changes efficiently. Demonstrate how to record **Change Orders** and document justifications for budget adjustments.
💡 BIMitPlaniT Tip: Always compare **Budgeted Total Cost** (calculated from activities) with the **Proposed Budget** (authorized by management). Report significant variances immediately.
